back to the grindstone...

Well the holidays are over and I start back to college on Monday. *sigh*

The trip to Ireland was great, I'm really happy I went back. I spent a lot of time with my little niece, who is a joy. She's seven years of age now and is amazing. Maybe it's me and my limited experience of children or perhaps it's because she's my god-daughter and niece but everything she does is pretty damned cool. I cannot remember any of the lines that she came out with that made me laugh but trust me on this one she was funny.

My mum was great, she brought me out to see many beautiful spots around our county and the neighbouring counties of Leitrim and Sligo. Man, it is beautiful around there. It has started me thinking seriously again about moving back, after I've finished my training and had some work experience here. A lot to think about.

I finally got to visit Yeat's grave. It's a very understated stone for such a great poet. Very simple and not at all what I expected. It's sitting in a very old graveyard full of stones carved with Celtic imagery and designs. Such a beautiful day and setting. Sitting in the shadow of the beautiful Ben Bulben mountain. After we had spent some time there we headed up to Glencar to the waterfall and the lake. The beauty of this area alone is enough to create a yearning in my soul to return home. It's a magical area where it is easy to believe that there are such mystical creatures like fairies and pixies alive and living amongst us. *sigh* A wee piece of heaven on this earth.

*laugh*

Am I getting carried away? No matter.
