updated poetry section

I've just added a sonnet from William Shakespeare to the poetry page. I remember back when I was at the Sacred Heart Secondary School, about one hundred years ago, we had to study some of Shakespeares sonnets. At the time I had no appreciation for poetry let alone the writings of a man who had died so long ago that the English they spoke during that time appeared to be a different language to me. But I do remember one of the sonnets that we studied, possibly his best known one, and how it left me feeling all soft and romantic. *smile* Very girly feelings for me. It isn't the one I've added to the poetry page but I will do. Until then, here it is:

Sonnet XVIII

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed,
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course untrimmed:
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st,
Nor shall death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st,
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Heavenly isn't it?

The actual sonnet I've added is one that reflects many feelings I'm experiencing at the moment. They are feelings which I find myself feeling towards someone I considered a good friend. It's not good trying to guess what the problems are which are causing this breakdown in communication especially as repeated attempts at trying to find the cause of this breakdown go unanswered.

I'm feeling angry because of all the wonderful words that were exchanged not so long ago which now seem to mean nothing and sad that a friendship that was very dear to me seems so easy to toss to one side.
