wtf?

I was really enthusiastic about organising this elective placement last year and had thought it was sorted out and wouldn't have to worry about it. Then early January I was informed that it wasn't possible to attend as the clinical area had enough students. Fair enough I thought. A little less time to organise it but it can still be done (elective is at the end of February and carries into March).

So I ring around and organise it with a group of other clinical areas. So far so good. Then February comes and I'm informed that one of the areas are sorry but they have enough students. Okay, so it's becoming a little more urgent. I inform the college that I may need some help here and another area is suggested. I contact them and they appear very positive about having me attend. They will call me back to confirm the dates. A week later and still nothing. Four phonecalls and an email later and I receive an email last night telling me they cannot give me a place.

Now I am not panicing, I am f*cked off. How the hell are students meant to receive an effective training if we're surrounded by people with an inability to organise or communicate?
