I was at the hospital today with my lovely mother-in-law (not technically an in-law but to save time and energy that is how I will refer to her) and father-in-law (again....) as she had discovered a lump under her arm. Not the best place to find a lump for anyone, but especially for a woman. But even more so as she's just come home from helping to look after her daughter who's just had a full mastectomy.
So she attended the sarcoma outpatients clinic today to have the lump examined by a specialist who put our minds at ease somewhat. He admitted that he wasn't too worried about it but needed the results of the MRI. It's a nice hospital and appears to be well staffed - unlike many other NHS units/wards I've seen.
So we shall see what happens in the next few weeks. There have been so many cases of lumps and bumps in my family in the last few years...breast cancer, skin cancer, prostate cancer, non-hodgkins lymphoma, bowel.... What a family eh.
