Parachute jump

I forgot to post my pictures from my parachute jump from the trip in December. When we arrived in Namibia we were given many options of activities that we could do whilst traveling through there. I had previously thought of something nice and tame like horse riding but the reviews that came back were not good. So I decided to attend the talk with the organiser at the hostel we were staying at in Swakopmund regarding the options available to us. She was bloody persuasive. I ended up signing up for the parachute jump, quad biking and sand boarding (I had to cancel the sand boarding as I was aching from head to toe after the day doing the other two activities).

I can definitely recommend both activities to everyone. I am not sure I would do a repeat jump but I am really glad I did do it. The quad biking was hilarious. I am primarily a biker, a two wheeled biker, and assumed that there wouldn't be that much difference in quad biking. Oh how wrong was I?! I ended up stalling, going off the track, crashing into other peoples bikes and almost flipping my bike. I took me an hour to get the hang of it. But it was fun.

The following pictures are still shots from the handycam that I had taken when I jumped from the plane. I can remember even now the thoughts going through my head when I was sat waiting to jump - what the hell is wrong with me?! There's nothing wrong with the plane! Why am I jumping out of it and placing so much confidence in a wee bit of silk?!--- mwahahaha!!!

Before I jumped I warned the lovely guy who was the tandem with me that there was going to be a very strong chance that I would swear... a lot... But he was very laid back and very good about it. The air was very blue that day.

This is the certificate to prove I threw myself out of a plane over the Namibian desert.
