poetry update....

I've updated the poetry page with a few from W.B. Yeats and Amelia Josephine Burr.

The three Yeats poems I found when I came back from Ireland. I wanted to put up the poems he wrote regarding the areas I visited whilst on holiday. Well, not quite, I drove past Rosses Point but I did manage to get to Ben Bulben and Glencar. Magnificent areas which I can see how they inspired him to compose such beautiful poetry.

The poem from Burr, A Song of Living, is one I found in one of my books last night. It's beautiful and reminded me of what my mum had been telling me earlier during the week about one of her friends. His doctor had just recently told the family that he had approximately a week left to live. This hasn't really come as a shock as he and the family have known of his tumour for a few months now. But my mum was saying that he had lived to see the things that he had set out to see. These included seeing his daughter give birth to her son (last week) and going to see his team play at their home ground. She felt he had, not given up but stopped fighting. You know what I mean? Sad isn't it.
