Feck, I've never been this broke and this tired before. I feel like I'm always working but it doesn't feel it financially. *smile* Oh well, I knew being a student would be tough going.
I've been working at outpatients again this week, this time at the endoscopy unit. I love the variety that comes from working at outpatients - the different clinics and types of patients that come through the doors.
I'm always amazed, especially after attending the teaching sessions given by the Diabetes Nurse Specialists, by some of the people with diabetes I meet and how poorly controlled their illness is. I know that there's a lot involved and it does impact on their lifestyles especially if they've been diagnosed later in life. But man, it's not good what poorly controlled diabetes does to a body.
I suppose if I've got to face this every day of my life I really would have problems too. It's not a temporary thing where we've got to make minor adjustments on a short term basis it's a life changing illnes. Yeah, I can understand why some people have problems with it. I suppose lots of support and education will help...I hope.
