Pillions and bikes

I took my cousin out on the bike on Sunday...that was a very very scary experience. Honestly. I haven't been out much on the bike in the last two years and have been trying to build up my riding confidence in the last few weeks. Sunday was one of those experiences.

It has certainly taught me one thing. I rely way too heavily on coasting when I'm coming up to traffic and stopping (roundabouts and traffic lights). With the added weight on the bike I noticed how little control I had over it when I coasted. Man it was scary. I'm now trying to ride the bike properly i.e. clutch control not coasting. Next trip on the bike is the trip back home to Ireland...and I can't wait. I'm really excited about it. I've just gotten a couple more locks for it and some oil for the chain. The tickets are booked and the breakdown cover sorted. Oooh it's exciting. Lots of miles to cover...just me and my bike. *smile*
