Job hunting

I have been offered an interview by a lady (lets call her Ann), from a recruitment agency, who called me a couple of days ago. They had seen my CV on some site, and have a client who is recruiting, and  wondered if I would be interested in putting my details forward. She gave a few details on the company and then asked me what my current salary was. I laughed and said I did not expect this company to match it but I wouldn't mind going down to £30,000. *silence* She said that they were paying £25,000. *laugh* *sigh* *laugh* So what were the hours and expectations. It's a 35 hour week and there is flexibility with the hours and even better it's in the same town that I am living in. So hey, it's not great but it's quality not quantity that counts. As a former colleague once said, if you wake up dreading going into work then that is the day to start looking for another job - life is too short to waste on being unhappy at your job. (I know that it's not the best of times to have that mindset what with the few and far between number of jobs there are out there and this is a time for putting on the blinkers, head down and just working through. I guess I am lucky as I don't have children or any other dependents and have that bit more freedom.)

So I certainly didn't think anything would come of it but I emailed my updated CV and a copy of my passport and NMC card.

Earlier today Ann phoned me to ask if I would be interested and available to attend an interview next Tuesday. Well that came as a surprise. I was certainly interested and definitely available. This should be very interesting. :)
